There are a plethora of mods out there – Gentlemen of the Row being probably the best, but even this does little to fix it. This is just unplayable and on several occasions I almost retired the game due to repeated crashes after working through the same mission for a seventh time. In play the fame rate can drop to 15 and even 3fps on multiple occasions and if you are not inches from a goal point or crib then you have no chance of saving your game. It frequently crashes after completing missions and loading cut-scenes. Those responsible for the port? CD Projeckt Red, not a new thing for them it seems. #Saints row 2 lag fix patch Pc#The music is a little thin on the ground for the various radio stations, but it’s good enough and graphically it is showing its age, but by far the most crippling aspect of playing this game on the PC is the horribly bad optimisation, having been ported to the PC. This really is the most enjoyable and flexible grind mechanic I’ve played. I never even opened most side missions, but I garnered plenty of respect to get to the end and If you want to bother collecting money from your crib for the hoods you own and spend it on new threads or upgrading cars then you will garner a ‘respect multiplier’ meaning you can do fewer side missions. #Saints row 2 lag fix patch tv#You can throw yourself in front of traffic for insurance fraud, flash your bits to old ladies, impersonate a Cop for a TV show, spray sewerage over people and buildings, fly a helicopter gunship to blow up drug fields, join an underground fight club, run hookers to meetings, assassinate people or just race cars. Each side mission has six levels of increasing difficulty, each granting more ‘respect’ and there are a lot of missions, so finding something to enjoy won’t be a problem. Yet even here the developers understand that some of us are after True Achievement and other just want to complete the story and see the credits roll. You will frequently come to points where your enjoyment is curtailed and you have to pause the story missions to go and do some repetitive side missions and earn XP by any other word. Here that takes the form of the ‘respect’ measure. My biggest gripe with all large sandbox games like this, is the grind element put in to falsely lengthen and slow your progress for no good reason. Most things involve running and gunning and you have all the standard weapons to do it with and upgrades to purchase or win for them. Rob a jewellery store, burn up a trailer park, steal from the nuclear power plant. You complete missions to take over areas of the city of Stillwater to the point of gradually defeating the boss of three various factions and the range of missions to do this are entertaining. #Saints row 2 lag fix patch series#Volition, the developers for the Saints Row series know that you don’t really care about games being more realistic…you care about them being damn fun to play and it certainly is. The developers clearly know their market and how games function. This is one of the aspects that makes the game so good. Customisation does affect gameplay, but not so your time is markedly ruined if it isn’t your thing. If customisation is your thing then this game is for you because Saints Row 2 has a lot of it, cars, clothes, crib and even the range of your insults. Pretty close to what I actually look like so let’s go with that. Now I’m not normally one for this, I just wanna play the game, so I just hit the randomizer and I was given a paunchy, middle-aged white guy with a pink punk rock hairstyle and a ginger goatee. The game opens up with the protagonist (you) emerging from a five year coma having just about survived an explosion as a charred mess cue character customisation. Today many still call Saints Row 2 the pinnacle of the series and it’s getting a remaster everyone keeps claiming. You can’t pay for that kind of marketing bonus. Saints Row 2 is a big game with big aspirations and it pulled some big opinions the New York Police Dept Union lobbied to have the game removed from sale claiming it corrupted the youth.
